It's in the Grind: Now to pick the perfect grinder

The balance of coffee grind to water will give you a great brew.

The size of the grind will influence the flow of the water because adjusting the flow of the water will allow you to customize any of the parameters like bloom time and brew temperature. If it flows faster, grind finer; if it flows slower, make the grinder coarser. This will bring out different nuance of your coffee such as - floral, fruity, earthy and so on.

Experimenting is always the best way to find the best cup of coffee from your coffee choice. Your flavor notes will differ from grind and brewing device.

Encore - Conical Burr with Bin (BEGINNER)

The Encore is lauded by coffee experts as the go-to entry level grinder for those brewing coffee at home. The Encore gives a great grind for drip/manual brew and also grinds fine enough for espresso.

Why are grind settings important? This has 40 grind settings: The extraction rate of coffee grounds increases with a larger surface area. To increase surface area, grind the coffee finer. The higher the extraction rate, the less contact time is needed. A finer grind can reduce the flow rate of water, increasing the contact time. Conical burrs grinders are exceptional at producing consistent grinds from very fine to very coarse as well as being durable and will remain sharp for many years.
