Belle Espresso is one of our favorites in our coffee houses because it balances beautifully with milk based drinks. With notes of blackberry, chocolate, and brandy, this decadent espresso has a creamy body and a sweet finish. The top flavor notes layer with hints of orange citrus and spice. With a winning 94/100 pts, Belle is our highest-rated espresso blend. After trying 40 espressos & rating over 30 espresso blends, Ken Davids of Coffee Review placed Belle on top.

Ken Davids of Coffee Review in his 94 POINTS - May 2006 assessment describes our Belle as: Intense aroma: brandy, chocolate, caramel. In the small cup medium in body but smooth in mouthfeel, crisply pungent yet caramelly sweet, with a tightly knit, understated complexity: brandy, caramel, cedar and flowers, hints of which persist in the roundly rich finish. Masters milk with a gentle, brandied chocolate authority.

Burnt and disappointing
These beans reminded me of ultra dark roast Starbucks beans. I was most looking forward to this blend, but it was undrinkable both in espresso and brewed coffee.

I can't drink other espressos anymore, none live up to Belle Espresso!
My go-to espresso roast now tastes completely bland and one-dimensional, and I can't enjoy it anymore after tasting Klatch Belle Espresso. From the instant I smelled the aroma of the bag of Belle Espresso I received, I knew it was something special. That said, I have not tried any of the other espresso roasts from Klatch, and I don't think I need to, because I've found the perfect one!

OK, but….
We first tasted Belle Espresso at a coffee shop in CA about a year ago and loved it. We learned from the barista what coffee it was and ordered some from Klatch when we returned home to CO and the first couple of orders were as we remembered, very rich chocolatey flavor, and worth the extra money over the other coffees we had been using. But….when we opened our latest purchase from Klatch, we were a bit disappointed in that the coffee seemed to be different, lacking that rich chocolate flavor. We are not coffee experts but are wondering if coffee, being an organic crop, varies from year to year like different vintages of wine. Anyway, we are not saying it is bad, just not as good as earlier purchases.

This is a great espresso blend if you love a strong berry coffee. I was hoping to get more of the brandy notes, but it's possible my machine/grinder combination just can't coax those out. A very easy blend to dial in and hit your numbers. I've found I like to stop it a little before the blonding point as the bitterness starts to overpower the softer berry notes quite quickly.

I tried Belle Espresso after Hurricane Maria, during the 3 month long power outage. At the time, I couln't run my expresso machine so I drip brewed it and it was wonderful. This time around, as espresso it is truly divine. The flavor profile is accurate to what was described in the website. I do recommend following the brew recipe. When I tweaked it I was blown away. Also, wait a week once you receive the coffee. This one needs to degas for a while to be optimum. Truly awesome!
