Decaf Espresso

I’ve spent quite a while experimenting with different beans to find the right fit for my taste, my machine, and my routine — even using ChatGPT to help me compare flavor profiles and roasting styles. After trying many options, I kept coming back to Klatch House Decaf.

It’s the one decaf that never turns sour, tastes full but not harsh, and avoids that burnt edge some dark roasts have. The flavor is balanced and consistent, and it blends beautifully with a bit of caffeinated coffee when I want more kick. It’s become my go-to decaf — smooth, reliable, and genuinely enjoyable every time.

Has a very bad taste and smell. I can’t drink it unfortunately because it tastes so bad, i only had a few cups from 2 lbs of beans:/

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Klatch and have been getting their beans on a monthly subscription for many years and is one of my favorites. I am not a decaf person but thought I would try it since had some guests staying with me for a week. I personally did not like the roast profile which was VERY dark and oily and tasted like a burnt Starbucks roast. Of course, this is my personal taste and you might love that flavor. I used it as an espresso, pour over and french press. It was best as a french press (even though I still didn't care for it) but had the hardest time dialing it in as an espresso without getting a "gusher". Anyhow, I am not a fan of this roast.

I love this Klatch decaf espresso. After my open heart bypass last year, I want decaf for my blood pressure. Klatch's Swiss-Water Process 5-coffee bean blend roasted as Espresso is so yummy delicious. I am a subscription by usage customer.

My doc twisted my arm to switch my espresso from caffeine to decaf, but with this Decaf Espresso, it no longer feels like my arm has been twisted. With my 20 year old workhorse Rancilio Silvia, I get the most amazing, thick and flavorful crema on my doppio espresso every morning. Other than the caffeine hit, I miss nothing with my switch to Klatch’s Decaf Espresso.

This decaf is incredible. It makes the best crema like all Klatch espresso beans, thick and golden. The beans are rich, bold, chocolatey and sweet. They blend perfectly with non dairy and dairy. iced or hot expresses. I love that they include the extraction specifications for each roast. There was no trial and error with any of the Klatch beans on our machine, the first grind poured perfect shots and continue to every day.

I don’t drink decaf, but my wife does. She loves this blend. I make it for her in 6 oz cappa’s. Highly recommended!
