Balances beautifully with milk based drinks

Creamy body with a sweet finish

Description

Belle Espresso is one of our favorites in our coffee houses because it balances beautifully with milk-based drinks. With notes of blackberry, chocolate, and brandy, this decadent espresso has a creamy body and a sweet finish. The top notes layer with hints of orange citrus and spice.

Ken Davids of Coffee Review in his 94 POINTS - May 2006 assessment describes our Belle as:

"Intense aroma: brandy, chocolate, caramel. In the small cup medium in body but smooth in mouthfeel, crisply pungent yet caramelly sweet, with a tightly knit, understated complexity: brandy, caramel, cedar and flowers, hints of which persist in the roundly rich finish. Masters milk with a gentle, brandied chocolate authority."

With a winning 94/100 pts, Belle is our highest-rated espresso blend. After trying 40 espressos & rating over 30 espresso blends, Ken Davids of Coffee Review placed Belle on top.

My favorite beans!

I go through a bag a week with my wife as these are my favorite beans for espresso after trying numerous brands and beans. I especially love how fresh the beans are, but my last order of 3 bags did not have a roasted date sticker on them.

Belle Espresso - for espresso

I gotten into espresso about 8-9 months ago. Still learning both of my machines - one is a lever one is a dual boiler with flow control - and both of my grinders - conical and flat burr (latter is single dose) - to make consistently great espresso/milk drinks.
With this particular coffee I was able to extract very balanced and deliciously berry tasting espresso with the lever machine (13.5g in 49mm basket). The coffee almost choked the machine and only tarted dripping after release at about 20 sec. However this extraction was just pure joy and nice chocolate and berry notes. The other machine resulted in heavier almost burned extraction, however when used for cappuccino it became very nicely balanced, a bit more coffee vs milk tasting, with cocoa and chocolate and distantly berry notes. Lovely. The biggest surprise was making an Americano, which I almost never drink. It was superbly delicious, although I filled only half of the mug with hot water. It was a bit more concentrated this way and superbly jam-like. Berry notes were a bit more pronounced. Overall very happy with this coffee!

Thanks for sharing these photos! Glad to hear you're enjoying Belle.

Best espresso I’ve tried

I hate to say that I’m a coffee snob but I am. I try many kinds and travel to many places only to come back to Klatch. The Belle has a wonderful body and a richness that’s only enhanced even more when paired with dairy or a non-dairy alternative. It has no acidic aftertaste. When I drink it plain, in an americano or latte, I get one of this Ratatouille moments. For those who’ve seen it, you’ll know what I mean.

Fantastic espresso!

I was always a fan of the World's Best Espresso, as it wasn't too bright but yet, not too dark with a perfect body. I recently tried out a few more of klatch's blends and single origins and must say the Belle is astounding. 18.5g in, 40g out at 35 sec. It's like liquid honey with a hint of red fruits, quite sweet in the finish!

One of my favorites

Tasting notes are spot on. You can smell the blackberry and chocolate even when grinding. The favors match the nose. Low acidity and low bitterness. Delightful.

First coffee beans i actually tasted a difference

This coffee has an actual flavor to it. All the other beans I’ve bought my wife and I couldn’t really taste much of a difference. But we can taste a distinct difference in these beans, and it tastes amazing! 10/10 would recommend.
